ATA ACTION LAUNCHES PATIENT VOICES FOR TELEHEALTH COALITION, CONVENING LEADERS IN PATIENT ADVOCACY SUPPORTING TELEHEALTH POLICY AND PERMANENCY

WASHINGTON, DC, SEPTEMBER 22, 2022 – ATA Action, the American Telemedicine Association’s (ATA) affiliated trade organization focused on ensuring individuals have permanent access to telehealth services across the care continuum, today announced the launch of the Patient Voices for Telehealth Coalition (PVTC). ATA Action invites organizations representing diverse patient communities to provide perspectives on federal and state policies related to virtual care and participate in activities to support the advancement of telehealth.

“To secure access to virtual care, the patient voice must be front and center in the debate for telehealth permanency,” said Kyle Zebley, executive director, ATA Action, and senior vice president, public policy, American Telemedicine Association (ATA). “We are launching the Patient Voices for Telehealth Coalition to ensure patients continue to play a central role in shaping a future of healthcare that provides all Americans with safe, quality care where and when they need it.”

Patient Voices for Telehealth Coalition membership is open to state, regional and national patient organizations and nonprofits that represent constituents who have a vested interest in ensuring access to telehealth services. Initial members of the PVTC include:

  • Allergy and Asthma Network
  • ALS Association
  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
