Federal Policy Wins

Driving National Progress for Virtual Care 

ATA Action has played a central role in securing critical federal telehealth policies that expand access and create long-term stability for providers, health systems, and patients nationwide. 

Key Federal Accomplishments Include: 

  • Permanent first-dollar coverage for High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and Health Savings Account (HSA) participants  
  • Codification of key COVID-era Medicare flexibilities, including:  
    • Virtual supervision policies  
    • More than 250 telehealth service codes  
    • Expanded coverage for Digital Mental Health Treatment, including ADHD care  
  • Extension of Medicare telehealth flexibilities through January 30, 2026  
  • Extension of the Acute Hospital Care at Home program through January 30, 2026  
  • Continuation of DEA remote prescribing flexibilities through December 31, 2025, with ongoing advocacy for permanent regulatory solutions
